Swan 38 - SPIRIT

Owner Comment

“When we were looking for our boat, our requirements were simple. She had to be a great sailing boat, rugged, and beautiful. Spirit fit those requirements perfectly.George and Sherry, the prior owners, had owned her about for about a decade and sailed and raced her locally in North Carolina and offshore.

I had always wanted to take my own boat on an offshore race to Bermuda, and took Spirit there the first time in 2015. We did not do well that year, but in 2017 we had a good race and took first place in our double-handed class.

Since then, we have cruised her extensively during the summers while upgrading and maintaining her to an offshore-ready standard. Our trips, and the friendships made, have been memorable. From the Bras D’Or in Nova Scotia, to the gems along the coast of Maine, she has served us very well. It is a little bittersweet to put her on the market, but she is not the right boat for the gulf coast of Florida where we now live and have an active racing and sailing schedule. It is time for a new owner to take her on new adventures, and she is ready.“
